Great courses, easy to use!

Just last week I was browsing Udemy for some new skills to pick up. I ended up getting a course on NoSQL databases which has been fantastic so far. It's super easy to navigate their site and find what you're looking for, and most of the time the discounts are already applied through links, so you don't even need a coupon code. My only tiny gripe is that I wish they offered a subscription model like Skillshare, but honestly, the individual courses are such good value anyway. I'm already thinking about what interior design course I'll tackle next!

Detailed C# course experience

I bought the 'C# Masterclass' about a month ago. The checkout was smooth, and I got immediate access to the course videos. The instructor was clear and went through examples step-by-step, which I found helpful for understanding complex concepts. The course had tons of modules, taking me about two weeks to go through the core material. I liked the Q&A section where the instructor answered questions quickly. The certificate of completion was a nice touch too, even if it's not accredited. Overall, a solid platform for learning.

Learned a lot with Python

Got a Python programming course last week because my friend told me about this site. It was pretty easy to find a course and the video quality was good. I'm actually understanding stuff, which is a big plus. Felt pretty chill, no stress at all.

Good value for a new skill

I was looking to pick up some Photoshop skills and found a course for $12.99 during a flash sale. It seemed like a good deal compared to other options. The course covered a lot, and for that price, I felt like I definitely got my money's worth. No complaints there.

Always reliable courses

I've bought several courses here over the last couple of years, mostly around web development. My last purchase was the 'The Complete 2024 Web Development Bootcamp' and it was just as solid as the others. The content is consistently good, and I appreciate the lifetime access. Never had an issue.

Decent course, quick access

I picked up a course on 'React - The Complete Guide' recently. The content quality was good, and I liked that I could start right away after purchase. My only minor gripe was that some sections felt a little rushed, but overall, it was a positive experience and worth the price I paid.

how long do I actually get access to a course after I buy it? is it like a subscription or permanent?

D Dan M. 2 months ago
It's permanent access! Once you buy it, it's yours forever.

You get lifetime access. No subscription fees for individual courses, which is nice. You can go back to it whenever.

Can I use more than one coupon code on an order? I have a couple from different instructors.

K Kate 2 months ago
Nah, only one coupon per course. Tried it before, didn't work.

S Sophie H. 2 months ago
Pretty sure it's just one coupon code at checkout. Most of the time the best deals are from those automatic promo links anyway, so you might not even need a separate code.

anyone know if udemy certificates are worth anything on a resume? or just good for personal learning?

G Greg Reyes 2 months ago
For some employers, it shows initiative. For others, it's just a certificate of completion. It's not like an accredited degree, but it can definitely help fill skill gaps.

They're not officially accredited like a university degree, but they're good for showing you're actively learning. I put a few relevant ones on my LinkedIn and it caught some recruiters' attention for specific skills.

Thinking about getting a Java course, but I'm worried if it's too hard I won't get my money back. What's their refund policy like?

T Tom Whitfield 2 months ago
They have a pretty decent refund policy. If you don't like it within 30 days, you can usually get your money back, as long as you haven't watched like 90% of it.

I've refunded a course before, it was pretty straightforward. Just go to your purchase history and there should be an option to request a refund within 30 days. No drama.

how does udemy compare to coursera? i'm trying to decide between a web dev course on one of them.

A Alex Brooks 2 months ago
Udemy is usually cheaper, especially with the sales. Coursera often has more university-backed stuff and specializations, but you pay more, often a subscription model. Udemy is more pick-and-choose individual courses.

T Tom Doyle 2 months ago
I'd say Udemy has a wider variety and is better for specific skill building without a huge commitment. Coursera feels more academic with its paths and peer-graded assignments. Depends on if you want a deep dive with structure or just to grab a new skill.
